Description

Fellows in High Places

We are surrounded by a moving crowd after Jojo's last duel

We all meet outside the Colosseum

We talk about Jojo's new helmet that appeared on his head

This was his last kinda big "test" and now he has earned his respect as a fully fledged member

People are flooding towards The Lightning Rod so we follow

The place is spilling out with Fellowship members, its a open tab and everyone is partying

We go up to the top floor, its full 360 windows and packed with people in armor

Eofos is gunna try to look for drugs lol but seems like there probably wont be many of those here, they are a bit straight edge

Caukdim is here but he has a bunch of files with him for work but is arm wrestling someone at the table lol Jojo leads us over to Caukdim for an arm wrestle lol

We chat with him for a bit and mess with him over his paper work

We get drinks and hang out

Eofos starts drinking and dancing and singing with various Fellowship members They start to sing drinking songs and Eofos plays along with them

Eadith and Aiylah go up to the roof as its a bit too noisy

They chat about whats next, the earthquakes and where to go from Fallevin

They glimpse across the city and spot a white cloak on the roof nearby.

Its Ezryn

Aiylah sends her raven and sees the white knight leaning on the balcony listening to the sounds of revelry.

Aiylah says "They are just gazing longingly...."

They talk about if they should invite them over to the party....

Eadith sends her silver raven over to deliver a message to Ezryn to invite them over

There is a hesitation in Ezryn as they are even a bit started at the bird speaking to her.

Jojo goes downstairs to find Denna

Theres a lot of noise above them from Eofos, lol

There are a couple others at the table with them

Denna readjusts how she is sitting and says "Alright everyone, out" and the rest of them leave with their drinks

Im sorry if I seemed a bit upset about the news of the Tenet Stone I hope you understand

Im glad you have realized I wasnt being secretive to be harmful, but for loyalty's sake

My father trusted you so thank you for keeping that trust

I hope an extension of that can be had between us. You lost your father but I lost my best friend as well. There is joy to be found in that together, i dont want us on opposite sides

Its something I will be praying for guidance about With this circumstance, I was hoping for some more direct guidance though.

The gods arent as direct, all you can do is ask and see what you receive

There is another matter though... I wanted to come here to talk about Augustine and Bane and all of that, but we took a job for the Marauders to investigate the earthquakes and see if we can stop them. Do you know about them?

Yes and no, Fellowship have sent reports over the past months of these occurrences, though an exact source hasnt been found it has changed the landscape in the area a bit. We sent a group but they returned after a rock slide sent them back.

We really dont have much more information, we were told there was something related to an abandoned temple that is maybe near the source?

I dont have any knowledge of that place, but the outpost guards may know its where abouts and could help you.

Because of that urgency, we will probably be leaving soon. Any talks with Lorson Ayred?

No but we will tomorrow Things move fast once information is shared. Our task may be greater than originally thought. A task that will be handled.

When discussing our possible courses of action it sounds like an easy thing to take care of a man, but one that is a possible vessel of a god it makes it.... trickier

The path isnt easy, but easier now than it will be when he becomes said god

Its nice knowing the Fellowship is behind us To know hes my uncle, I dont know what to think about that

Theres a lot to be said about you coming to the Fellowship, he is your uncle only in name.

I am thankful my mother found the strength to remove us from that family. I dont want to know what my life would have been like.

I think she was good for your father, but I hoped that maybe when she came along he would become more stagnant, but that wasnt the case.

Did he speak about her family at all?

Aside from not liking them, he was not about to spill those secrets to me.

It just makes me wonder if that family had anything to do with his death.

Only they would know that.

Its very different from the group I was adventuring with only a month or two ago, but they are helpful

People have a tendency to move to and away from us in this work, but the people you have with you now are important. The others will come back to you at some point though Im sure

Jojo comes upstairs and Eofos spots him and turns the attention of the crowd to him lol

Eofos starts a speech: A toast to Jojo! For completing his last duel let us all revel! From what I saw tonight, I know you honor the strength of Cord Old men forget: and yet all shall be forgot, But even he'll remember with advantages What feats Jojo did this day: then shall our names. Familiar in his mouth as household words Jorun Jolandel! And as the sun rises upon our enemies - you can be sure he will be there to stop them Fiercely fighting for The Fortune Bringers, the Fellowship, for Cord!

The party is going crazy, everyone is cheering, toasting to Jojo

Eadith and Aiylah finally come down and find Jojo

Eadith walks by the table Eofos is dancing on and Eofos offers a hand to bring her up

They dance and stomp on the table and while Eadith is reluctant at first, she gets into it Right as she gets comfortable Eofos asks if she has ever crowd surfed before and sends here off crowd surfing lol

Jojo summons Steven The Steed and we are all dancing on a table together as the night comes to a close...

Or it doesnt, as they are drunk, Eadith teaches Jojo the Speak with Dad spell

He says it... and speaks out: "Hi Dad, I dont know if this is going to work, this is my friends spell, I dont know if it can reach you. I found out about the Tenet Stone and Lorson Ayred and Denna debated what to do, I guess I wanted to see if there was any sign to point me in the right way"

He hears nothing in return.

Eofos and Aiylah finds Deffy and gets a midnight snack

We regroup in the morning

Maybe we should try to figure out what is up with the wanted poster of Aiylah's brother

Jojo goes to Lorson Ayred to ask about the wanted poster

He says it isnt familiar to him, the poster isnt one of theirs, they dont usually post this kind of thing.

He doesnt know where it came from, theres no information on the poster otherwise to indicate where to bring this person, its practically useless

Maybe some kind of hidden message on it?

He doesnt recognize anything about the guy, sorry

Jojo asks about the earthquakes

He doesnt really know, its mostly just him clearing boulders and dealing with those effects

He tells about our mission

Jojo goes to Denna then

she is in the Del lighting some candles along the walls

"On your way?"

"Its about that time"

She gives him some wisdom and reassures him that the Fellowship will have his back what ever he does

"Remember, by will and by storm"

We stock up on supplies and Jojo tries to find some healing potions to replenish after his big fight lol

He gets 2 regular and 2 greater

Eadith casts dispel magic on the wanted poster and a design comes across it

The face transforms, its still like Aiylah's brother, but painted a deep red and there are small horns sticking out of his head, there are long fang like teeth protruding over his lip and one eye's iris is yellow The ink on the page is now like dripping like it was written quickly and heavily and sort of smudged It says: Wanted Dead - bring head for reward - 20k gold pieces

Aiylah seems confused at all this, she hasnt known him looking like this at all

When was the last time you saw him? "Over a decade ago - my brother worked on boats as a deckhand and sailor, traveling an extended period of time. He was gone when I left my hometown and I never saw him again. I left a note but I havent heard if he even got it."

Perhaps we can hit a port town to ask for his whereabouts, but there dont seem to be any other details.

We go 6 miles in the cart and make it to the proper entrance to the pass

In some areas of this pass if an earthquake were to hit, it could certainly be dangerous

Jojo would probably know where some of the outposts are along this pass

We made it to the Carigval Pass

We hit the first outpost around mid afternoon

We approach

We ask about the temple

Yeah most of us know where Crowcairn Monastery is, if you get to the second outpost they can direct you better

The landscape has changed a bit because of the earthquakes, rock slides have covered paths

We continue on until the evening comes and find a comfortable place to bed down for the evening

Eadith takes first watch kinda, shes really just studying

Aiylah takes the second watch

She gazes through the tiny hut to the sky and ponders her brother and how he would look at the stars for his navigation. The stars look a bit different though here than back home far in the north. She feels a bit of homesickness.

Jojo takes third watch and cant see shit

In the early hours of the morning Jojo hears pretty nearby a clashing of steel which alerts him quickly

On the other side of the river there are 2 people of the Fellowship are fighting against a small handful of people in black robes

Eofos and Jojo just take a running jump across the river, Eofos falls short a bit, but Jojo clears it completely

We fight these guys!

1 use of bardic inspiration

The robes on one of these guys spreads out into wings and he takes off into the air, Eofos magically pulls him back to his starting position

Eadith looks very worried at these guys now. She sees a man with dark tan skin, closely cut black beard with a twirled mustache He seems to be resistant to lightning damage

2nd use of bardic inspiration

Jojo dispatches the last of the baddies

Eadith starts to check the baddies, they are Cult of the Dragon members!

One of the Fellowship members who was being attacked says there have been more cult members recently

Use 3rd bardic inspiration

Eadith is in not a very good mood now, obviously put off by seeing the Cult of the Dragon

She will interrogate him Eofos offers his help, she says nothing but nods her head

She asks what the cult is doing here, in particular a dragon wing

"Are you a traitor?"

Eadith immediately snaps and casts Fold Person on him

On his knees, he folds over backwards so his head is between his feet, bones snapping

"Answer my question, why are you here in the mountains?"

"Traveling"

"Dont be an asshole"

"I wont make it out anyway, why are you so interested if you left"

"So I can stop you"

"So justice...."

"How did you join the cult, how old were you? Or were you an adult by your own choice"

"I had some friends in places who could get to other places"

"So you wont tell us anything"

"Im more interested in you"

"I want to know why you care so much"

"Maybe cause Im not a psychopath"

"I think what Im doing is a gift handed down to me from the undying goddess. I think when I follow her path at the end of it she will welcome me. I think.."

"Is that the promise they gave you?"

"Its what we all work towards. Maybe I could get you to come back under my wing as they say"

Eadith puts her hand out in front of her and says to get away

Eadith casts gravity sinkhole above him, sucking him up into the air

She says in draconic "Maybe if you said something different, I would have changed my mind. But I hate you and everything you stand for, and Im going to kill ever last cult member like you"

He

"You should get comfortable with your betters for we will usher in a new era"

Eofos casts suggestion to make him tell the truth

"Is the cult working with the followers of Bane" No "What is this new era you will user in" Fire and brimstone, the great winged creatures are again on their thrones, the goddess ripping earth returning from her prison.

He doesnt seem to have any involvement with the earthquakes

They are here because they are moving elsewhere, from their home, our center of our organization is shifting from being hidden to being known. Becoming visible.

Eadith takes up again

"You seem really ambitious, I dont think you are that far up the ladder, in all honesty I dont think you are that important, they probably wouldnt tell you anything about the Purple Dragon"

"If you are talking about the infiltrator, the false worshiper, he is an outsider, he thinks he is better than her, I am a true believer."

"So you arent working with Vanca?"

He spits on the ground

"Youre a complete waste of time, they recruit so many of you thinking you are important and will climb the ladder, but you dont know anything do you?"

"I know where to go and I know my mission"

"And you just go along with your orders because of their promise to you and their religion. You dont actually know anything or have any power here."

He says he (Vanca) wishes to control the great winged creatures, and they deserve to be free, my queen to be free (Tiamat)

"I will free her, at any cost. Right now we are going to show people who we are. If one must sink to the hells to find her, then kill me and bring me closer to my goal."

He doesnt know anything about Aiylah's brother

Eadith asks Jojo to behead him, it feels right to have the Fellowship have the final hand considering the situation.

Jojo takes the man and beheads him on a tree stump.

As his head rolls and the morning sunlight streams in, we end our session.
